House of Representative Considers Scrapping National Youth Services Corps (NYSC)
In the house of representatives, It has been introduced that a bill to amend the 1999 constitution to scrap the National Youth Services Corps (NYSC).
The constitution of the National Republic Of Nigeria Alteration Bill, 2020, which is seeking to repeal the NYSC Act. Is billed for the second reading.
Awaji-Inimbek Abiante (PDP, Rivers state) was introduced the bill last week.
It is seeking to repeal section 315(5a) of the 1999 constitution and the National Youth Services Corps Act.
According to the synopsis of the bill, Mr Abiante cited Insecurity, Exploitation by place of primary assignment and poor state of orientation camps.
