2021-2022 School Re-entry Plan for Families
The York Catholic District School Board worked closely with its partners at the Ministry of Education, York Region Public Health, and with Board staff to prepare for the return to school in September. By aligning our practices with their guidance, we are confident our schools will continue to be safe, inclusive places to learn and work throughout the 2021-2022 school year.
This page contains helpful information, parent resources, parent letters, and guidance documents about our 2021-2022 School Re-entry Plan and more.
All York Catholic District School Board schools and transportation will operate with a focus on the health, safety and well-being of students, staff and other stakeholders. We always follow the guidance of York Region Public Health and the Ministry of Education. Classrooms and buses are inclusive and safe places for all students, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, ability, vaccination status or socio-economic standing.
School operations include provisions for in-person and remote learning, as well as synchronous and asynchronous teaching, as necessary. Changes in the methods of assessment and evaluation are addressed and, always, we are sensitive to the human rights and equity issues that may arise in the learning and work environment. To the extent possible, collective agreements and working conditions are always respected.
Please review the 2021-2022 School Re-entry Plan to assess your original decision for in-person or remote learning for your children. Families wishing to change their previous selection from the June survey can do so between August 25-27, 2021 by:
- Calling or emailing the school office
- If staff are not able to answer your call, leave a message with your child’s name, grade and the change you are requesting – to either remote or in-person
- Schools will follow up and confirm the request by phone or email
NOTE: If no change is needed to the original selection, do not contact the school – no action is required.
