McLovin has aged past the point of being carded. ‘Sperbad’
According to his fake ID, Fogell — the iconic underage try-hard in 2007’s “Superbad” — has officially turned 40.
“Happy 40th birthday McLovin,” Seth Rogen, who co-wrote and co-starred in the coming-of-age comedy, tweeted Thursday. The tweet was accompanied by a photo of Fogell’s now-infamous forged Hawaii driver’s license, which bears his photo, the name McLovin and the birthdate June 3, 1981.
Meanwhile, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, the actor who played Fogell, is currently 31, going on 32 later this month.
“(We wrote this joke when we were 14 years old),” Rogen, 39, added, in a nod to the fact that he and co-writer Evan Goldberg began writing the flick’s script when they were teenagers, using their Vancouver high-school experience as inspiration.
Rogen’s tweet has since gone viral, racking up more than 270,000 likes, as well as a deluge of comments from fans of the film and its most legendary prop.
“I once used this exact ID to get into Melbourne Casino…I was old enough anyways but was s – – tfaced and thought I’d try. Security didn’t even look twice,” one “Superbad”-lover responded.
“Met him in a bar after a show one time and he was absolutely tearing up a drum kit. beers were had and merch was exchanged. nice guy!” recalled another.

Writer-director Lulu Wang took the moment to remember how kind Rogen and Goldberg were to “Superbad” staffers.
“This film was my second job in the industry after I moved to LA! I was a young assistant and ‘Hollywood’ felt intimidating and unattainable, but you, Evan and David were very kind and oh so humble which really gave me the courage to push forward. Thank you,” she wrote.
“AMAZING! That’s wonderful and thank god I wasn’t an a – – hole. We were definitely shooting pickups for ‘Superbad’ while we were filming ‘Pineapple [Express]’ and this actual shot might be one of them!” Rogen responded.
